All you need to know

All children must be registered with Gosforth Rugby Club using the RFU Game Management System (GMS). GMS records all the essential details of the child and parent/guardian such as contact details, age and gender. This can be done by :

• Coming along to Registration day where members will assist in completing the registration
• Going on-line to the GMS system using https://gms.rfu.com/
• Complete a paper registration available from behind the bar

Registration Day is on Sunday 8th September 2024. However you can register on Sunday mornings at the Club bar using the Registration form or any time after 1st August on the GMS system

Annual subscriptions run from 1st Sept to 31st Aug. All subscriptions should be paid at the point of registration. They can be paid by :

• Over the bar  as a single payment
• via the GMS system by card or direct debit. options are available to make payments over 4 months.

Subscriptions are split into 3 categories at the following rates for season 24/25

• Social ( for parent/guardian ) £10
• U6s - £70
• Age 7 to Colts  - £95
• Discounts of 10% are available for second and third children in the same category.

From season 2023/24 a minimum of one parent or guardian must become a social member of the club at a cost of £10 whilst registering their child. Membership cards will be provided.

• Training led by qualified coaches every Sunday from 10am (9.30 for girls rugby)
• Engaging and interactive tag rugby for children under 7
• Light refreshments after training sessions
• A thriving mini junior social community
• Social events, Christmas activities  and festivals throughout the year
• An invitation for parents to join  their relevant age grade WhatsApp group

We have a girls only section for those aged 8 to 12, which is run by both male and female coaches.  This group train on Sundays at 9.30am

All children are requested to wear the Gosforth RFC shirt, shorts and socks  with boots when training and playing matches.  In colder weather we suggest wearing additional warm layers. waterproof tops, gloves etc

We do not provide shirts, socks and shorts as part of the subscription cost, but these can be purchased from our online shop.

Additional kit including training tops, fleeces, waterproof jackets etc are also available online but are not essential.

There will be a small number of shorts, socks and hats available from behind the bar. on Sunday mornings.

Changing rooms are available for use on Sunday mornings.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL BOOTS AND MUDDY KIT ARE REMOVED BEFORE COMING  UPSTAIRS INTO THE CLUBHOUSE

If your child arrives ready to play, please remember to bring along a change of clothes and shoes for after their training session or game.

• All coaches are DBS checked through the RFU by the club's Safeguard officer
• All coaches are qualified or undertaking training to RFC standards
• All children playing rugby for a RFU club are covered by the RFU's personal accident policy details of which can be found RFU.com/insurance.
• Qualified First aiders are on-site at every training session.
• All parents and guardians remain responsible for their children at training and matches and are encouraged to stay. 

From 10am on Sundays,  hot drinks and sandwiches will be available for purchase in the clubhouse. The bar will also be open. Discounted prices will be available for social and full members.

All children who have been training will be given light refreshments.

All children playing in matches as well as their opponents, will be provided with hot food after the game

All age grade coaches will administer their own WhatsApp group to provide general information and updates. 

All general information about what is going on at Gosforth Rugby Club will be posted on the Gosforth Comms WhatsApp group. Please ask your coach to invite you to the group.

The club actively promotes parents and guardians to become volunteers at the Club whether assisting in coaching as a helper, becoming a coach - training provided - or assisting with post training food. Please ask your age grade coach for details.

Information will be provided via your age grade WhatsApp group on cancellations of training and games.
